Course Aim
The Futures’ Certificate course is aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills to face the future with relevance and depth. This course will instill futuristic skills in its students: these are skills that are aimed at innovation and invention and in building our future professional skills whatever their field of interest may be.
This course will cover areas such as Creative thinking, Futures thinking and Artificial Intelligence. These topics are key for prospective future professionals as they are skills needed in this dynamic environment. In addition participants will have an upper hand in adapting to changes such as those brought about by the Corona Virus in all sectors of life.
Imagination, creativity, and innovation are the skills of the future. The course will aim at introducing to Students the differences and necessity of these three skills and hopefully inculcate this through critical thinking and technology.
There are three levels Basic level, Intermediate level and Advanced level
In each level students will be taught how to
- Critically analyze ideas
- Create a ‘useful’ idea based on discussions and literature
- Work in teams and build Futuristic skills individually
- Create a futuristic product based on machine learning skills acquired and corresponding to learning levels
For the first intake we will only be offering the basic level.
Basic Level
The aim of the basic level is to provide the foundational skills, futuristic tools, critical and creative skills, and ability to work across different divides. The course is focused on students at high school level and is project based.
Duration of Study
The program will run for 5 weeks, with 3 weeks of learning and the students will then have 2 weeks to work on a final project.
Final Project
The students will be required to come up with a specific futuristic project which can be applicable in the following sectors: education; agriculture; engineering and manufacturing; information communication technologies etc that can be used to solve a current problem. There will be award certificates for the best, runners up and third best projects.
